Strength in Archery

Strength training is a very important part of the training regimen of any athlete no matter at which sports he or she is specialized. It is not too much different in archery. In modern archery weight training is meant to increase the stamina and flexibility rather than pure strength. However, in traditional archery there may be some other concerns. In general, the health benefits of strength training for older athletes are also discussed in the film, because archery can be done at any age and traditional archery attracts adults rather than youngsters due to its links to history as well as to its undisputable character as a cultural activity. Another reason is that strength training seems to be a very convenient way to avoid muscle loss caused by ageing.
